The Eisriesenwelt in Salzburg came second in the public voting, and Hardegg in Lower Austria came third. For the tenth time, Armin Assinger and Barbara Karlich searched for the most beautiful place in the country on the national holiday.
Their state was represented by the presenters from the nine ORF state studios and the celebrity jury consisting of Thomas Stipsits, Annemarie Moser, Herbert Prochaska, Susanne Höggerl, Lukas Perman, Lilian Klebow, Fritz Strobl, Franz Posch and Laura Bilgeri. However, in the anniversary year, the television audience also chose the winner at the end of the program via live voting via telephone and SMS.
The old town of Steyr was in the running for Upper Austria. Also available were the Eisenberg in Burgenland, the Himmelsberg in Styria, the Palmenhaus Schönbrunn in Vienna, the Pillerseetal in Tyrol and the Spullersee in Vorarlberg.
