In the current debate about the use of artificial intelligence in the film industry, two more Hollywood stars have now clearly positioned themselves on the opposite side. Actor Nicolas Cage (59), for example, expressed serious concerns in a new interview. And Scarlett Johansson (38) is now even taking legal action against an AI app.
Nicolas Cage: “AI is a nightmare for me”
“AI is a nightmare to me,” Cage recently said . “It’s inhuman. You can’t be more inhuman than artificial intelligence.” The actor opened up about his recently produced appearance as Superman in the film “The Flash,” which was released in June. Cage was confused after he saw it on screen himself because he shot a completely different scene on set.
He was actually instructed to “literally stand in an alternate dimension, if you will, and witness the destruction of the universe.” He tried to convey emotions with his eyes. “When I saw the movie, I was fighting a giant spider. That’s not what I did. That’s not what I did.”
Although the scene was computer animation, Cage said, “I just think they did something to it, something that was out of my control.”
Scarlett Johansson is taking legal action
A similar incident occurred with Scarlett Johansson, which is reminiscent of that of Tom Hanks (67) at the beginning of October. Her name and likeness were used in an AI-generated advertisement without her permission. The promotional video was then posted on the X platform. that Johansson had therefore taken legal action and the October 28th ad appears to have now disappeared. Tom Hanks’ face was also simply used for an AI-generated dental care advertisement without his permission.
