Oliver Pocher: First podcast episode with ex-wife Sandy Meyer-Wölden

Same podcast, new woman: After separating from Amira, Oliver Pocher brings his ex-wife Sandy Meyer-Wölden to the microphone. In the first episode of “The Pochers – freshly recycled” they talk about the current situation.

After the separation crisis, Oliver Pocher is now continuing the previous couples podcast with his estranged wife Amira Pocher with his ex-wife Alessandra Meyer-Wölden. This Friday the first episode of “The Pochers – freshly recycled” () was published. In it they talk about the reasons for continuing the podcast and the difficult situation they are both currently in.

Events have “rolled over” Oliver Pocher

Oliver Pocher first explained the sequel: “We know that this podcast would normally take place with Amira and I would talk to her normally. Then events overwhelmed us a bit, or me in particular, that I then had to see what was going on do what you do next.” The podcast is still a very important medium and component of “what I do. […] Then we couldn’t continue and then a decision had to be made and Podimo still wanted a man-woman constellation because that also involves a lot of issues.”

Pocher continued to joke and addressed Sandy Meyer-Wölden: “Then I was able to go through the ex-wives and before you knew it I asked you if you didn’t want to do that, not just as a temporary worker.” Pocher believes that his new podcast partner “could also tell you one or two interesting things”.

The whole thing was a surprise for her, explained Meyer-Wölden, who was married to Pocher for four years and has three children together. “We have spoken on the phone several times over the last few days and weeks and I was of course aware of the situation. It just happened that you asked me if I would like to do it and so we are sitting here today. It’s not an easy one Situation, not for me either, because of course I’m a family man and I’m friends with Amira and we had this patchwork constellation for years. It’s also known that this is your project and your baby. You built it together. I was also a fan and a listener.” Although it makes sense to keep the podcast in the family, it is still not an easy situation for her.

Oliver Pocher doesn’t want a “billing podcast”

There are no plans “for us to do the big billing podcast here,” said Pocher. “I really have to say that Amira played a big part in getting this patchwork thing going again.” Meyer-Wölden also emphasized that she was a great person and had reached out to her at the time. “She stood up for us so that we could get on the right path and make peace. I will never forget that.” The lifelong connection remains.

It’s quite interesting for him at the moment because it’s a very similar situation, “how we separated in a certain way, i.e. the timing. It was your 30th birthday at the time, there were two pregnancies with three children, once a daughter, once Twins, they were also about a year and a half old and then you decided that somehow it wasn’t enough for a relationship anymore. The circumstances are similar, but every situation is different, explained Meyer-Wölden. “I find it difficult to make comparisons. […] Such a separation didn’t happen overnight for us, and neither did it for you. There were problems that I could also understand, who could understand it better than me.”

Sandy Meyer-Wölden calls Amira Pocher “a friend”

She also emphasized that she had no bad intentions with the podcast. “Amira continues to be a friend of mine. I also assured her before we started the project and I promised that I didn’t want to shoot against her. It’s not my intention at all to badmouth anyone.” She had the feeling that the headlines about the separation had caused the situation to get “a little bit out of control”. Above all, one must now try to protect the five children. “I think we will stick together as a family and the most important thing now is to avoid a war of the roses. Your gifts are your beautiful children, who I also love very much. It’s about us acting as role models. And time heals everyone “Pain,” Meyer-Wölden became emotional and apparently had to suppress tears.

She is very proud of her ex-partner. “That you opened up like that and showed the side of you that I already know, namely a softer and emotional one. And also shared your feelings.” For him, humor and making fun of the situation are still his outlet, explained the comedian. “There are still things that are strange about it. If someone told me a year ago on Amira’s birthday […] If I had said, next year for her 31st birthday, Amira is living in your and Sandy’s old house and is also having fun with another guy who is trumpeting fortune cookie wisdom and then everything gets very complicated, then I would have said: Great story, Have another drink, have a nice evening.”

Amira Pocher has announced that she wants to take legal action against speculation about a possible new relationship.

Sandy Meyer-Wölden and Oliver Pocher will also be seen on stage together. On November 24th, the two want to record a live podcast at “Gloria” in Cologne. They were married from 2010 to 2014 and have a daughter and twin boys. The comedian married Amira Pocher in 2019 and had two sons with her. At the end of August 2023 they announced their separation in the podcast.
