From June 13th to 16th, Green Day, Måneskin, Bring Me the Horizon and Avenged Sevenfold are coming to the Pannonia Fields in Nickelsdorf (Neusiedl am See district).
Alice Cooper, Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 will also be there, organizer Ewald Tatar (Barracuda Music) announced at a press conference on Friday. Dogstar, the band led by Hollywood star Keanu Reeves, will also be on stage on June 13th.
Because many acts were won, it was decided to extend the festival, which was planned for three days, to four days, said Tatar. “We really managed to create something colorful and mixed.” The line-up is already 80 to 90 percent fixed. According to the organizer, they had to hold off on making the first announcements this time and wait for the announcement of Green Day’s tour.
For Sum 41, the appearance at Nova Rock will probably be the last in Austria. They have announced their dissolution. The local acts in 2024 are Folkshilfe, Aut of Orda and Granada. Jane’s Addiction and Babymetal are heading to Nickelsdorf for the first time.
The Pannonia Fields have now been repaired in June this year after the festival was partly rained out, says Tatar. The weather damage has been repaired and the lawn has been strewn. The new path network, which was made more weatherproof after last year’s heavy rain, is being revitalized again. In any case, the investments would have paid off. “The paths lasted much longer and lasted until the end,” emphasized the organizer.
New festival
Tatar wants to launch a new festival in Eisenstadt. “Remember Forestglade” is intended to be a reminiscence of the rock festival that took place in Wiesen from 1995 to 2012. “That was always my real baby – the mother of rock festivals in Austria, the first of its kind,” said Tatar. We are currently in the middle of planning. It is not entirely clear whether this will still happen in 2024. It should celebrate its premiere in the Eisenstadt Castle Park by 2025 at the latest.
Otherwise, Eisenstadt will celebrate again in 2024 at the Lovely Days Festival on July 6th. Status Quo, Canned Heat, Ten Years After, Uriah Heep and Earth, Wind and Fire are on the program there. The day before, the “Butterfly Dance Festival” goes into its second year – with Kruder & Dorfmeister as headliners.
