Balancing family and work is not always easy. Lena Gercke has now revealed how she does it during a TV appearance.
Lena Gercke (35) rarely talks about her private life. During her interview with Annika Lau (44), the model revealed how she and partner Dustin Schöne (38) manage everyday life with a job and their two daughters Zoe (3) and Lia (almost 1).
“We actually split everything up. We both have very flexible working hours. These are times when there’s a lot going on at once, then it’s a bit more relaxed again. We just try to coordinate really well.” When Gercke has a long day at work, her partner is there for the children, but her daughter Zoe is also at daycare during the day.
There’s also a lot of help from “grandma and grandpa”: “We’re lucky that we have a lot of family around here, that’s just an incredible amount of help.”

Only the topic of changing diapers is “not Dustin Schöne’s favorite topic,” Gercke continues. “He’s so sensitive to smells and I just don’t have that.” But for her it’s “not a bad thing”: “Some people like this better, others like that. It’s a matter of give and take.”
