Apple TV+ presented the first trailer of Masters of the Aira new drama about World War II starring Austin Butler. The nine-episode limited series comes from the producers of band of brothers and The PacificSSteven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
What Masters of the Air is about
Based on the book by Donald L. Miller and with a script John Orloff, the limited series follows the true story of a group of American bombers in World War II. The stunning film series was filmed in locations ranging from the bucolic countryside and villages of south-east England to the harsh deprivation of a German prisoner-of-war camp.
According to the official synopsis: Masters of the Air follows the men of the 100th Bombardment Group, known as the “Bloody Hundred,” as they carry out dangerous bombing raids on Nazi Germany and deal with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat. performed at 25,000 feet in the air. It portrays the psychological and emotional price these young men paid as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich. Some were shot down and captured; some were injured or killed. The Apple Studios series is executive produced by Spielberg through Amblin Television and Hanks and Goetzman for Playtone. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television are co-executive producers along with Steven Shareshian of Playtone. In addition to writing, Orloff is a co-executive producer. Graham Yost also serves as co-executive producer. Cary Joji Fukunaga directs four of the nine episodes.
Masters of the Air will premiere worldwide on Apple TV+ on Friday, January 26, 2024 with the first two episodes, followed by a new episode every Friday until March 15, 2024.
