Federal Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir (57, Alliance 90/The Greens) and his wife Pia Castro separated “amicably some time ago”. Özdemir has been Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture since December 8, 2021. He entered the Bundestag for the first time after the 1994 election. In the 2021 federal election, he won the direct mandate for the Greens for the first time in the Stuttgart I constituency with 40.0 percent of the vote. From 2008 to 2018 he was also one of two federal chairmen of his party.
