“Aliades”, a satire by Alexander Katzowicz on the new clichés of machismo and feminism, opens tonight the 15th Latinuy Film Festival of Punta del Este. The film, an Argentine-Mexican co-production, tells the unique and unexpected love of a young man and a girl “polarized” by the patterns of these times, and has just won four of the main awards at the recent 18th Buenos Aires Unusual Film Festival Aires: Best Film, Direction, Actress (Ananda Bredice) and Actor (Nahuel Vec). This year’s Latinuy features 22 feature films and 41 short films from 14 countries on the continent, as well as special guests from India and Israel. For Argentina, in addition to “Aliades”, there are “RJW”, by Fermín Rivera, about Rodolfo Walsh, “The fishing club”, by Gastón Revol, “You will find me in the depths of the abyss”, by Matias Rispau, “Alma” , by Juan P. Martínez, and “Las mil y una Lemos”, by Sabrina Parel, an intimate portrait of the comedian Willy Lemos, that is, the transvestite from “Tacos Altos” (Sergio Renán, 1985), the uncle of “Eva and Lola”, the bishop of “Zama”, and especially Susú of “Paco”, which earned him the Cronistas award for Best Supporting Actor.PS
