An Instagram photo of him holding his cut braid generated almost three million likes in 2016, and Styles donated the hair himself at the time. Now he’s taken the fashion step further – his hair is gone.
Harry Styles wears a “buzzcut” – and fans mourn his curls
For a few weeks now, Styles has been sporting a “buzzcut”, i.e. almost bald. And while fans were thrilled to see Styles’ shorter hair in 2016, the reactions to his new look are currently rather mixed. On the Instagram profile of his lifestyle company Pleasing, a photo of Styles with his new hairstyle caused some funny comments.
“Please take this down, it’s bad for my mental health,” one fan pleads in reference to the image. “Glue them [die Haare] “Back on!” demands another. Some fans aren’t sure what to make of the missing hair on Styles’ head. “Part of me loves it, part of me is crying on my bedroom floor,” he said a user. It’s unlikely that Harry Styles will read the comments, but if he does, he can certainly find encouragement there.
Theories about baldness
“I can’t wait to defend this at Thanksgiving dinner,” writes one fan. “Everyone is crazy about the curls and we’ll miss them but I’m living for this new look, this man can really do anything,” shows someone else gets excited.
Just last year, a theory went viral online that Styles wore a wig during public appearances because his hair had almost completely fallen out. At the time, he expressed his amusement about the rumors in an interview with Rolling Stone. “What’s the deal with baldness? It skips a generation or something, right? If your grandfather’s bald, then you’re bald too? Well, my grandfather wasn’t bald, so let’s keep our fingers crossed,” Styles said. So his baldness was definitely a voluntary decision.
