ORF, which broadcast the gala live on ORF 2, announced this in a broadcast on Sunday. The event took place in the PlusCity in Pasching (Upper Austria) – and thus for the first time outside Vienna.
The show was presented by Nina Kraft, Norbert Oberhauser and Andreas Onea. Political celebrities and well-known faces from the cultural, sports, media and entertainment sectors were there. Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen praised “Licht ins Dunkel” as “an important support for many families in Austria who need support in particularly challenging times characterized by rising living costs.” “The ORF puts its entire media fleet on television, radio, online and in state studios at the service of a good cause,” ORF General Director Roland Weißmann was quoted as saying in the broadcast.
In addition to yesterday’s gala, other events are planned on ORF – such as the “Celebrity Million Show for Light in the Dark” on December 4th or the “Sport on Sunday for Light in the Dark” auction on December 10th. Ö1, FM4, Ö3, ORF III and the ORF regional studios are also on board with several campaigns and programs.
