Kanye West is once again causing a stir: Did the rapper really have his teeth removed and replaced with titanium teeth?
Veneers are now practically the norm in Hollywood, and grills made of silver, gold, platinum or even diamonds are nothing unusual in rapper circles. Kanye West (46) is now said to have shot the bird: The rapper is said to have replaced his teeth with titanium. On Wednesday, West shared a photo in which he has his mouth wide open. Instead of teeth, a kind of titanium bit can be seen in the upper and lower rows. The 46-year-old also posted a screenshot of the James Bond villain Beißer (played by Richard Kiel), who is known for his metal teeth.
Media subsequently reported that West had “completely removed his teeth” and had a dentist in Beverly Hills install the $850,000 (around 780,000 euros) replacement. Kanye is said to have designed the new titanium prosthesis himself in collaboration with a team of dentists and plastic surgeons. Many people on social media are now wondering: Does the rapper really have no teeth left in his mouth?
Insider on Kanye’s dental procedure
An insider close to Kanye, who did not want to be named, reveals more details. The insider confirms that his teeth were not removed during the procedure. “The technical term is fixed prosthetics. They are strong and permanent. It goes beyond veneers or grills. Nothing like this has ever been done before,” the newspaper quoted the anonymous source as saying. “It is, to put it mildly, experimental dentistry.”
Back in 2010, Kanye claimed to have replaced his entire lower row of teeth with diamonds. In an interview with presenter Ellen DeGeneres (65), he proudly presented his new, diamond teeth. “I just thought diamonds were cooler,” he explained at the time. “There are no grills?” DeGeneres asked. “They’re actually my real teeth. I replaced my bottom row,” West said.
