Valentine’s Day: with three works to rethink love, the CCK inaugurates a special program
February 8, 2024 – 2:12 p.m.

The CCK opens its theaters to the theater with a program that combines new playwrights with the great classics.

“Love is shit”, by Cecilia Meijide; “A play for me”, directed by Sebastián Suñé; and “Escorpio”, by Julieta Otero, are the three works that will inaugurate on February 14 the special program dedicated to theater at the Kirchner Cultural Center and that they will be part of the “Illuminated Heart” cycle that will summon different areas and spaces to think about love outside of its romantic idea.

In 2023, the CCK will begin a new stage in which it will add, in addition to the circuit of music, visual arts, literature, cinema, childhood, performing arts and education activities, a special program dedicated to theater by producer Pablo Silva.

What are the plays that come to the CCK like?

Between February 14 and March 10, three plays can be seen, always at 8 p.m. and in the Sala Argentina, as part of the “Illuminated Heart” cycle.

One of the plays is “Love is shit”, by Cecilia Meijide and with the participation of actress Vanesa Maja, which tells the story of a woman who prepares to meet her ex-partner. There will be three performances on February 14, 17 and 18.

On February 21, 24 and 25, it will be presented “A work for me”with dramaturgy, acting and co-direction of Sebastian Suñé. With a cast that completes Francisco Bertín, the proposal oscillates between comedy and drama, desire and social criticism, laughter and mourning.

The third proposal is “Scorpio”of Julieta Otero. Starring Miguel Ferrería and Sofía González Gil, this comedy is focused on a couple who lives in a small apartment that functions as the ring of an identity dispute. The piece can be seen on March 1, 2 and 3
