Several women have come forward with additional accusations against the actor Jonathan Majorswho was convicted in December of assaulting and harassing a girlfriend.
The New York Times reports on accounts from former girlfriends, colleagues and set staff about Majors, who has maintained his innocence and said last month in a televised interview that he had “never hit a woman.”
This is contradicted by several accounts in the Times article.
The new accusations against Jonathan Majors
In pre-trial statements to prosecutors and in interviews with The New York Times, an ex-girlfriend, Emma Duncan, accused Majors of abusing her emotionally and physically, including strangling her, throwing her and causing bruises. Other, Maura Hooperalso said that he had emotionally abused her.
Both Duncan and Hooper are actresses who dated Majors before he became famous. The Times report characterized it as a “controlling and threatening figure who isolated them from their friends and their professional goals”.
“You lose the sense of value,” Duncan said.
In interviews with former colleagues, the Times reported that Majors had a history of volatility on the set of the series. HBO Lovecraft Country which included confrontations with co-workers that led them to complain to the network.
The Times article was based on interviews with 20 people and statements submitted to prosecutors in the December case.
In that court case, Majors was found guilty of harassment and misdemeanor battery of Grace Jabbari, an ex-girlfriend. His sentencing is scheduled for April.
Majors was set for a major story arc in the next round of movies from the avengers as the supervillain Kang. He has since lost that position and other professional supports, including his management and advertising companies.
