“Once Upon A Time” star Chris Gauthier: actor dies at just 48 years old

“Once Upon A Time” star Chris Gauthier has died at the age of 48 after a short illness.

Family and colleagues mourn the death of Canadian actor Chris Gauthier (1976 – 2024). As the TriStar agency, where Gauthier was under contract, announced in a statement that is available to, among others, the actor, known from “Once Upon A Time”, “Smallville” and “Eureka”, died on Friday morning, January 23rd. February, died at the age of 48. Accordingly, Gauthier died of an unspecified short illness.

The actor’s friends and colleagues say goodbye on social media. Chad Colvin of TriStar Appearances writes, “When his wife reached out to me with the news yesterday, I cried in disbelief for hours. […] Chris was, in the truest sense of the word, the textbook definition of a character actor.” The actor, known for his role as Smee in the US fantasy series “Once Upon A Time”, was also in a relationship with the late actor Robin Williams (1951- 2014) and Anthony Hopkins (86) in front of the camera.

“Once Upon A Time” colleague Colin O’Donoghue (43), who played the role of Hook, also dedicates himself to Gauthier: “Rest in peace, Chris!”, the actor writes about a photo of him with Gauthier in the Fantasy series shows. “My love and thoughts go out to Erin and the boys! We will miss you, brother! You were the true captain!”

Gauthier is survived by his wife Erin and their two sons Ben and Sebastian.
