Ingredients

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

  • 3/4 kg. minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • parsley
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 can of tomato puree
  • 1 piece of bell pepper
  • 1 green onion
  • Salt, oregano and pepper
  • Olive oil

Step by step: how to prepare meatballs with tomato sauce

  1. Mix: Start by chopping the parsley, the garlic clove and mixing it with the minced meat. Add the egg and breadcrumbs, season with salt and pepper and mix well with your hands.
  2. Assembling the meatballs: form balls of the desired size. Sear them in a frying pan with a little vegetable oil until lightly golden and set aside.
  3. Preparation of the sauce: In a frying pan, sauté the green onion, the onion, the bell pepper and the remaining clove of garlic in a little olive oil, all finely chopped.
  4. When the onion is transparent, it is time to add the chopped tomatoes and sauté for a few minutes. Season and add a glass of water and a splash of red wine. Season with a pinch of oregano. Cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat.
