Shakira has “put her career on hold” to be with her former partner Gerard Piqué while he pursues his football career. The 47-year-old explained this in an interview. The Colombian pop star and the former Spanish professional footballer were together for 11 years before announcing their separation in June 2022. They have two children: sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

Shakira, who will now release her first album in seven years with “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran”, reflects on the time since the release of “El Dorado” in 2017: “For a long time I put my career on hold to work on the To be by Gerard’s side so he can play football.”
