Charles maintains close contact with Kate

The future queen receives encouragement from her father-in-law, King Charles III. His Majesty was “very proud of Catherine for her courage to speak out the way she did,” Charles said in an official statement. After they were both hospitalized at the same hospital, the London Clinic, Charles “maintained close contact with his beloved daughter-in-law in recent weeks,” the statement said. Charles and wife Camilla “will continue to offer their love and support to the entire family during this difficult time.”

Kate’s brother-in-law Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan also spoke up. “We wish Kate and the family health and healing and hope that they can do so privately and in peace,” said a statement from Harry and Meghan, whose official title is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on Friday evening.

Kate’s illness and her likely long-term absence is just the latest of several blows of fate that the royal family has to deal with. After King Charles’ diagnosis earlier this year, Queen Camilla and Princess Anne took on more and more tasks on behalf of the monarchy. They became the most important pillars and were therefore supposed to continue with the Royals business as usual is guaranteed.
