Ivy Love Getty: Billionaire heiress files for divorce

The wedding was a celebrity spectacle, but four years later it’s all over: billionaire heiress Ivy Love Getty has filed for divorce. Now there is a risk of mudslinging.

It is said to have been a love marriage: At Fashion Week in Paris 2019, the British-Austrian photographer Tobias Engel suddenly got Ivy Love Getty in front of his lens. The US model is the great-granddaughter of the once richest man in the world, oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty. There was a spark between the two and a year later they were standing in front of the registry office. But now there is a threat of a war of the roses: As has now been announced, Ivy Getty filed for divorce in January.

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, the former dream couple has been separated for a year and a half. Apparently Engel is said to have tried to exert more and more control over the billionaire heiress.Friends have increasingly warned Ivy about Tobias. “He apparently tried to alienate the 29-year-old from those around her, interfered more and more, and put her under pressure,” the paper quoted a friend of Getty as saying.

Ivy Love Getty: Your assets should be well protected

In fact, the separation doesn’t seem to have been amicable. As the US portal “Page Six” found from court documents, the divorce was filed before a mediator without a prior agreement. The marriage could therefore keep the courts busy for longer – even though there is apparently a prenuptial agreement. “As a member of the Getty clan, Ivy is naturally very cautious when it comes to legal entanglements,” said an insider. The family’s enormous assets should be well protected.

After the civil wedding, Ivy Getty and Tobias Engel had a blast with a luxury wedding in November 2021. They celebrated in San Francisco and were personally married by US politician Nancy Pelosi. Getty wore a custom John Galliano wedding dress that was spectacularly decorated with broken glass. Her maid of honor was actress Anya Taylor-Joy, known from “The Queen’s Gambit.” Other celebrity guests included Princess Olympia of Greece, Justin Bieber and the mayor of San Francisco. The couple is said to have paid $100,000 for the location alone, and her dress was valued at half a million dollars.

Now the 29-year-old is single again – and has removed almost all of her husband’s photos on Instagram.
