But the 34-year-old also sings about her ex-boyfriend, the British actor Joe Alwyn, in several songs and makes it clear that the separation last year was not as amicable as initially thought. Swift and Alwyn were in a relationship for six years and there were even rumors of an engagement. “I fell in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life,” Swift said in her documentary “Miss Americana,” which was released on Netflix in 2020.
