Moderator Jan Hahn died in 2021. On the third anniversary of his death, colleague Vanessa Blumhagen paid tribute to him in an Instagram post.
Vanessa Blumhagen (46) remembered the late Jan Hahn (1973-2021). Three years ago, on May 4, 2021, the long-time “Sat.1 Breakfast Television” presenter succumbed to cancer. His colleague writes about an old black and white photo with a rooster: “Three years… Oh, Jan!” Blumhagen further explains in her post that when she sometimes lies awake, all the memories come flooding back. “Our late breakfast dates in Berlin. ‘Today I’ll pay!’, ‘But next time I’ll pay again!’ And I see your smile again and again.”
The celebrity expert from “Breakfast TV” also explains the significance of the photo published on her account with around 210,000 followers: “When we met in the photo above, you told me that you were going to be a dad again. What a wonderful moment! Everything was so easy. So full of confidence. The fact that so many people still carry the presenter in their hearts is something “I’m sure you like, wherever you are now,” Blumhagen continues. “I carry you with me too, along with our memories.” Many Instagram users were equally sad under the post and expressed their condolences in comments. “He’s missed so much,” said moderator Jennifer Knäble (44) on her colleague’s post.
This is what his colleague appreciated about Jan Hahn
Blumhagen also remembered Hahn on the anniversary of his death in 2023. She wrote at the time, among other things: “I want to call you when I don’t know what to do because this industry is so crazy. You always listened to me so patiently. And gave tips. And always asked how I was doing. And no matter how stupid everything was, we always laughed. […] Oh, Jan. I miss you. Always. And more and more.”
From 2005 to 2016, Jan Hahn appeared on “Sat.1 breakfast television”. From 2017 he moderated “Guten Morgen Deutschland” on RTL. Hahn was a father of three. His youngest daughter was born in 2019.
