The German squad for the European Football Championship is being announced little by little. Further players have now been announced by Wolfgang Bahro and Günther Jauch.
In order to increase the anticipation for the home European Championship, the DFB has been communicating the names of some of the players who are in the squad for the European Football Championship in Germany (June 14th to July 14th) via various channels since last Sunday. Not only “WWM” presenter Günther Jauch (67) and Pascal Groß (32) were able to delight the football fans in the “EM scavenger hunt” on Wednesday (May 15th), but also “GZSZ” veteran Wolfgang Bahro (63) was able to delight the football fans.
Greetings from the “GZSZ” set
“I have the honor of naming another national player who will take part in the European Championship,” said Bahro in a short clip with black sunglasses on his nose. The “GZSZ” set can be seen in the background. As he took off his sunglasses, the actor announced: “It’s Joshua Kimmich.”
Bahro was apparently not chosen by chance for the nomination of Joshua Kimmich (29): the two have already met. Kimmich wrote about a shared photo on Instagram in 2017: “‘GZSZ’ legend.” The added hashtag #teamjoe makes it clear that Kimmich Bahro obviously likes the role of Joachim Gerner. The Bayern star is said to have already paid a set visit to “GZSZ”.
Günther Jauch wrapped his announcement in a “Who wants to be a millionaire?” question. In the video he explained to the camera: “And now follows the 500 euro question: Who is in the current squad of the German national soccer team? A: Small. B: Large. C: Fat. D: Thin. Guys, that is a 5 euro question.” Of course, what was meant was answer B for Pascal Groß.
DFB returnees Toni Kroos (34) and brother Felix Kroos (33) were allowed to name Robert Andrich (29) as a European Championship player on Wednesday. In the past few days, Frauke Ludowig (60), Dennis and Benni Wolter (33) and Peter Schilling (68) have also announced other players. The entire squad will be presented next Thursday.
