They are images that are difficult to bear: According to “CNN”, a video shows Sean “Diddy” Combs kicking his girlfriend as she lay on the ground and throwing objects at her. There are several lawsuits pending against the former hip-hop superstar.
A video seen by the US news channel could seriously incriminate former rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs – and support the allegations of his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura. The R&B singer had accused him of, among other things, sexual abuse, rape, intimidation and physical violence during their ten-year relationship and sued him. In November both agreed to a settlement.
The material apparently comes from 2016. The timing of its publication is explosive: in March, “Diddy’s” houses were searched by federal officials. Several people had sued him and accused him of sexually abusing them. Combs has denied all allegations against him and described the searches as a “witch hunt” through his lawyer.
CNN video: “Diddy” appears to kick Cassie and drag her across the floor
The footage is edited from multiple camera perspectives. The incident featured there is also described in Ventura’s statement of claim and is said to have occurred on March 5, 2016, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
You can see first “Cassie”, then presumably “Diddy” leaving a hotel room. He rushes after her wearing only a towel around his waist. When he catches up with her, he violently grabs her by the neck and throws her to the ground. Then he kicks her and drags her across the floor by her sweater. Shortly afterwards he can be seen again throwing objects in her direction. There are no accompanying audio recordings, but the video footage is brutal.
CNN said it confronted both sides with the material. Ventura herself did not comment, but her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, said: “The shocking video has only further confirmed Mr. Combs’ disturbing and dangerous behavior. Words cannot express the courage and bravery that Ms. Ventura demonstrated proved when she addressed the public.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs had previously denied the allegations, but did not comment further on the recent video.
