Under a post on Instagram, numerous users describe Kate Beckinsale as “too thin”. “I don’t give a shit,” she defends herself.
Kate Beckinsale (50) has had enough of the opinions about her body. Negative comments piled up under a video from May 27, which has since been deleted, in which she tried on various outfits. The actress is now “far too thin” and “no longer attractive,” it read, among other things. Beckinsale does not leave this uncommented.
“I was really sad. I saw my second father die. It made me sick. I’m sorry you find me less attractive. I don’t give a shit,” she replied to one of the comments.
Strokes of fate are responsible for weight loss
Beckinsale then explained what had led to her weight loss. “My mother has a lot going on too. I have to get used to the fact that two fathers died, one when I was five years old, the other in January of this year,” she justified herself. She also lost her cat, her “soul mate,” last year.
The stress caused a tear in her esophagus. She had to spend six weeks in hospital as a result. The “Pearl Harbor” actress is now trying to “survive” and therefore cannot deal with the negative comments. “That is what I want to reveal, what contributed to a certain amount of weight loss. What you think of my appearance and how I should look, regardless of the circumstances in my life and those of my family, is not important,” she clarified.
Kate Beckinsale’s stepfather Roy Battersby (1926-2024) died at the beginning of the year after a short, serious illness. The British woman had cared for the director until his death. The loss reactivated a post-traumatic stress disorder, because her father Richard Beckinsale (1947-1979) succumbed to a heart attack. His five-year-old daughter Kate found him at the time.
