“Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” premiere in Paris: Daniel Brühl celebrates with his colleagues

“Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” celebrated its premiere in the fashion capital Paris with leading actor Daniel Brühl.

Daniel Brühl (45) becomes fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019) on the streaming service Disney+. The streaming series “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” starts on June 7th and has now celebrated its premiere in Paris, the place of work of the fashion designer who died in 2019. Brühl arrived at the event at “Le Grand Rex” with his co-stars in a Rolls Royce, as can be seen.

“Becoming Karl Lagerfeld”: This is what’s behind the new series

Brühl, who appeared elegantly in a black suit and black shirt, then posed for the photographers with Arnaud Valois (40, Yves Saint Laurent), Jeanne Damas (32, Paloma Picasso), Sunnyi Melles (65, Marlene Dietrich), Alex Lutz (45, Pierre Bergé) and Théodore Pellerin (26, Jacques de Bascher). For this, they also went to a location with a view over the rooftops of Paris. “Disney+ France” also gave insights into the presentation of the series in Instagram stories, which apparently scored points with the audience. The cast received a lot of applause and a standing ovation in the hall.

The new series on Disney+, which is produced by the French “Lupin” production company Gaumont, is based on the bestselling novel “Kaiser Karl” by Raphaëlle Bacqué. The plot begins in the early 1970s, when an as yet unknown Karl Lagerfeld tries to gain a foothold in Paris. Numerous other historical figures from the jet set of the time, such as Andy Warhol (1928-1987), Paloma Picasso (75) and Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992), also appear in the six-part streaming series.
