Media entrepreneur Rupert Murdoch has married for the fifth time at the age of 93. The Australian-born media mogul married 67-year-old retired molecular biologist Elena Zhukova on Saturday at his vineyard in California. The US edition of the “Sun” reported this.
The tabloid newspaper belongs to the News Corporation, the media empire once headed by Murdoch, which also includes titles such as the conservative “Wall Street Journal” and the right-wing TV channel “Fox News”. The News Corporation also published photos of the wedding.
Murdoch had already had plans for a fifth wedding in March 2023. At the time, according to media reports, he proposed to Ann Lesley Smith, now 67, the widow of country singer Chester Smith. But two weeks later, he abruptly ended the relationship, the New York Times wrote at the time.
In the summer of 2022, Murdoch separated from actress Jerry Hall, whom he had been married to since 2016. Before that, he had already been married three times and had six children from those marriages. Zhukova came to the USA towards the end of the Soviet Union and, according to the New York Times, did research at the University of California, among other places. Her daughter Dasha was in a relationship with the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich until 2017.
