What “Alien: Romulus” is about
Billed as a return to the franchise’s roots, the film centers on a group of young space colonists who, while scavenging an abandoned space station, come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.

The cast of “Alien: Romulus” will be made up of Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu among others.
The eighth film in the Alien franchise was originally scheduled to be released on Hulu in the style of Dan Trachtenberg’s acclaimed Predator prequel, Prey (2022), but the studio decided to make it hit theaters instead.
Alien: Romulus opens exclusively in theaters on August 16.
