Naomi Campbell has revealed how she gave birth to two toddlers without ever being seen with a baby bump.
There was a lot of speculation, now supermodel Naomi Campbell (54) has confirmed that she was able to welcome her two children into the world through a surrogate mother. After she became a mother to a little girl for the first time in 2021 at the age of 50 and was born with the newborn, many asked themselves: Where was the baby bump for this biological child? Now she provides the answer.
When she spoke about the importance of her children in an interview with “The Times”, the model revealed when asked whether she had used a surrogate mother: “Yes.” The children, whose names she did not reveal, have changed the life of the catwalk icon: “I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110 percent my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day of school.” And she continued: “My babies mean everything to me. But they also make me afraid of the future.”
Their children don’t need a dad
Campbell further reveals in the interview that she never looked for a father for her children and is happy to be “a single mother of a single mother.”
With these words she wants to take away women’s fear of having children: “I have heard many young girls say that it is too expensive to have children and that they may not want any […]. I understand it’s hard financially. But my mother had nothing and she made it. It’s worth it. It’s so incredible.” Campbell appeals: “To change this world, we have to rely on the younger generation. I trust my children more than I trust ourselves to do the right thing.”
Model ban for her daughter
The 54-year-old wants to protect her children from what she experienced: a start in the modeling industry too early. “I’m not sure I would let them start working at 15. It’s a merciless world.” At the height of her career, Campbell became addicted to cocaine and alcohol and entered rehab in 1999.
