Comedian Will Ferrell appeared on the red carpet at the premiere of “Despicable Me 4” in New York City with his mother, wife and sons.
US actor Will Ferrell (56, “Barbie”) made the premiere of his new film “Despicable Me 4” (original title: “Despicable Me 4”) a family affair. In New York City, his mother Betty Kay Overman (83), his wife Viveca Paulin (55) and their two sons Magnus (20) and Axel Ferrell (14) accompanied him on the red carpet.
The five-time Emmy winner and the Swedish actress have been married since 2000. The couple have three sons – Mattias (17) was not at the premiere.

But Will Ferrell didn’t just present himself as a family man on the red carpet, he also applied to be the “Sexiest Man Alive” for the iconic cover of “People” magazine. He is “planting the seeds” to land on the cover “because you never have comedians.” “So get it going internally, OK? Sexiest Man,” he added, amused.
Ferrell had chosen a particularly casual outfit to match. With dark sunglasses, a beige Adidas tracksuit jacket with the collar turned up, black pants and white sneakers, he posed as a “sexy villain.” Or, more precisely, “a sexy, football-playing villain,” according to the US star. After laying the foundation for his “Sexiest Man Alive” campaign with these not-so-subtle messages, he summed it up again: “Come on. Vote for comedians.”
However, it is not true that no comedian has been on the cover yet, because Paul Rudd (55, “Ghostbusters”) secured the title of “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2021.
Also in New York City were Ferrell’s acting colleagues from the current film: Kristen Wiig (50), Steve Carell (61) and Joey King (24).
