Kevin Jonas: Musician had skin cancer surgery

Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers was diagnosed with skin cancer on his forehead. The musician has already undergone surgery.

US musician Kevin Jonas (36) has announced that he has undergone surgery to remove skin cancer. He also called on his fans to have all moles checked regularly.

“A small skin cancer that has started to grow”

On June 11, the Jonas Brothers guitarist posted a clip on Instagram in which he first announced the procedure. “So today I’m having a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head.” He moved the camera to show a mole on his forehead just before his hairline. “Yes, that is actually a small skin cancer that has started to grow. And now I have to have surgery to remove it, so here we go.”

The father of two then showed himself after the operation with a bandage over the area. When he took it off for the camera, he covered the wound with a surprised emoji. The procedure seemed to have gone quickly, as he was ready to drive home shortly afterwards. “Okay, I’m done,” said the musician in the car. “Now it’s time to heal.” He then emphasized: “Guys, make sure you get the moles checked.”

The guitarist underlined this appeal with the caption to his video: “Friendly reminder to get your moles checked.”

Kevin Jonas underwent surgery after he and his brothers Joe (34) and Nick (31) postponed the European part of their tour in April. The new season of the celebrity reality show “Claim to Fame”, which Kevin Jonas hosts together with his brother Frankie (23), starts on July 10.
