Todd Haynes has been appointed as writer and director of Trusta limited series starring Kate Winslet which is currently in development in HBO. John Raymond will co-write the project and both will executive produce.

The official tagline reads: “In a story told from multiple opposing perspectives, a 1920s Wall Street tycoon amasses a sudden fortune but loses his beloved wife. Decades later, her attempts to control the narrative of his life are thwarted by a biographer who uncovers the biggest secrets of their legendary marriage.
Haynes is best known for directing films such as Safe (1995) and Velvet Goldmine (1998), and also wrote both, as well as carol (2015). Most recently, she wrote and directed May December (2023). Haynes and Raymond previously worked with Winslet on Mildred Pierce HBO’s 2011 miniseries based on the 1941 novel by James M. Cain.
Trust marks the third time Winslet has executive produced an HBO project, after Mare of Easttown in 2021 and The Regimewhich aired earlier this year.
