The kids have moved out and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are ready to leave their home in New York behind.

Michael Douglas (79) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (54) are moving on to new shores. The two actors want to part with their New York property, where they lived together with their children. The house called “Longmeadow” on the river bank in Irvington is being offered for sale for 12 million dollars, or around 11.2 million euros.

Zeta-Jones bought the house in 2019 for $4.5 million. In the years that followed, the couple had the four-story villa restored, including the twelve bathrooms and eight bedrooms. The highlights of the house, which is located on a 12-hectare property on the Hudson River, include a two-story library, a living room with an integrated bar, several fireplaces, an indoor pool and a fitness area.

The children are out of the house

“When I bought our home in Irvington, I knew our family would have many happy times here, and we have! Now that our son and daughter have left the nest, it seems like the right time to sell,” the Oscar winner explained. The couple want to relocate and plan to “spend more time in Bermuda and Europe.”

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have been married since November 2000 and have two children together. Son Dylan (23) wants to follow in his parents’ footsteps and is working on his acting career. Daughter Carys (21) is studying international relations and film at Brown University in Rhode Island.
