Presented by Searchlight Pictures, A True Pain is directed and written by Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg (Social network, Zombieland). The film stars Eisenberg alongside Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kieran Culkin (Succession, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World)
What is A Real Pain about?
A Real Pain tells the story of David (Jesse Eisenberg) and Benji (Kieran Culkin), two mismatched cousins who reunite for a trip through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the unlikely duo’s old tensions resurface in the context of their family history.
The BAFTA winner and Emmy nominee complete the cast Will Sharpe (The White Lotus), the Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Gray (Dirty Dancing), Kurt Egyiawan (Beasts of No Nation), Liza Sadovy (A Small Light) and Daniel Oreskes (The Thomas Crown Affair, Only Murders in the Building).
Producers are Dave McCary (Saturday Night Live, I Saw the TV Glow), Ali Herting (Bodies Bodies Bodies, The curse), Emma Stone (Poor Things, Cruella), Eisenberg, Jennifer Semler (Theater Camp) and Ewa Puszczyska (The Zone of Interest, Cold War).
