The top restaurant in Günther Jauch’s “Villa Kellermann” was recently no longer able to sustain its operations financially. Now it is clear: the restaurant’s days are numbered.

Five years after opening with TV presenter Günther Jauch, the top restaurant in the legendary “Villa Kellermann” in Potsdam is closing. Today is officially the last day, according to the responsible PR agency.

In April, it was surprisingly announced that the restaurant would close on June 21. When asked, managing director Manfred Dengel recently said that there was no successor yet. TV presenter Jauch opened the restaurant around five years ago together with star chef Tim Raue, who retired from the restaurant in 2023.

The reasons given for the closure were the Corona crisis, sharply increased operating costs and a tense personnel situation. Jauch owns the historic villa on the Heiligen See in Potsdam, where the restaurant was operated.

In April, managing director Dengel was open to leasing the property. “Or Villa Kellermann could be rented out for events. Demand for weddings and other celebrations is particularly high.”

In Potsdam there are several top chefs and restaurants that have been awarded by the Guide Michelin and Gault Millau.
