Forever single: Four signs that you will remain alone forever

Forever single: Four signs that you will remain alone forever

A life as a single forever? Scientifically speaking, there are certain characteristics that make it more likely that you will remain alone.

“There’s a lid for every pot” – not entirely true, because researchers have found that people with certain characteristics are more likely to remain single permanently.

If you want to find a partner while you’re single and go on one date after another, but somehow it doesn’t really work out with a steady relationship, then it could be down to your own personality. Psychologist Mark Travers reports on “Psychology Today” which characteristics make a person a long-term single without them perhaps being aware of it.

With these four characteristics you are more likely to stay single

Having children is not a priority in life
Most people want to start their own family at some point in their lives. If you don’t feel the desire to have children, it automatically makes it more difficult to find a suitable partner. However, there are also couples who decide together not to have children. Studies show that people without children experience a higher level of “happiness in the moment”, while parents experience more thoughtful happiness or an increased sense of life fulfillment. Research also shows that having a job is more important for life satisfaction than being in a relationship or being married.

Career-hungry
If you are very focused on your career and your job is more important to you than anything else, this is a clear sign that you are more of a single person. Relationships cost time, money and sometimes nerves, which many career-oriented people are not willing to give. Above all, potential partners do not always want to come second.

The rebels
If you hate society forcing norms and values like family building, monogamy and marriage on you and generally don’t like being forced into patterns, this could be a clear sign that you are happier single.

Those unable to form bonds
Anyone who notices that they have a problem with commitment, are dragging childhood trauma behind them or something else that keeps coming back when a relationship becomes more concrete should get help. This pattern of commitment avoidance is unlikely to disappear overnight and ensures, sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously, that you always end up single.

It is therefore important that you know what type of person you really are when making one of the most important decisions in your life, such as starting a family. According to the psychologist, however, around half of all adults today have real problems with entering into a long-term relationship and prefer to remain single.
