What George RR Martin said about the new Game of Thrones spin-off series
Martin posted an update on the series’ progress on his Not A Blog, where he gave a clearer idea of when fans can expect the new series and shared details about the series’ length.
“Filming began last week in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where much of the original Game of Thrones was filmed,” Martin shared.
“Based on my novel The Hedge Knight, the new program will debut early next year, in 2025”.
“Only six episodes for this one. A novella is considerably shorter than a novel (particularly one of my novels), so there is less source material,” he added.
The author also revealed that production is going “very well” and that he and his wife will check the progress of the series next month.
“I hear everything is going very well right now,” he shared. “Next month I’ll be able to see for myself.”
“Parris and I are taking some of our crew to Belfast in mid-July to visit the set, meet the cast and attend some jousting,” Martin added.
