Shifty Shellshockalso know as Seth Binzerthe band’s lead singer Crazy Townwhose 2000 song “Butterfly” became a worldwide hit, died at 49 years old.
The Los Angeles medical examiner yesterday recorded that Binzer had died and no cause of death was given.
The nu-metal star founded the American rap rock group Crazy Town in 1995 in Los Angeles with Bret “Epic” Mazur.
The pair released songs for several years until their debut album, The Gift of Gamesaw them burst onto the scene with their third single, “Butterfly”.
That song became one of the anthems of the 2000s, with its signature “come my lady” chorus repeated at parties around the world. The song was also played in the opening sequence of the film Something’s Gotta Give of Jack Nichloson and Diane Keaton.
Crazy Town released a second album, Darkhorsein 2002, although it failed to reach the same levels of popularity as the first.
They broke up shortly after, although they reformed and released a third album, The Brimstone Sluggersin 2015. In 2017, Mazur left the band and Binzer changed the band’s name to Crazy Town X.

Shellsock had spoken about her personal struggles in the past: she appeared on several reality shows in the 2000s in an attempt to Raise awareness and help combat your fight against addiction.
Back in 2012, it was reported that the artist had been in a coma and was receiving treatment in a Los Angeles Intensive Care Unit. He was admitted to the hospital for a week and, according to various media, was induced into a coma due to drug-related problems.
That same year he was convicted of cocaine possession and domestic violence charges against his girlfriend. He was sentenced to three years of probation.
In recent years he faced more battles in his personal life and in 2023 he was arrested for driving under the influence. He also made headlines after getting into an altercation with his bandmate Bobby Reeves during one of their live shows.
