Folk music star Michael Hartl fell off his e-bike and injured himself.
Folk music star Michael Hartl (75) sustained serious injuries in an accident. It happened when he and his wife Marianne (71) were cycling on their e-bikes from Fieberbrunn to a farmers’ market in St. Johann. “The small asphalt road suddenly went very steeply downhill. Michael braked hard, his e-bike reared up and he flew over the front,” .
A hymn to the helmet
The singer fell on his face and sustained a number of other injuries such as bruises and abrasions. An ambulance took him to the hospital. The laceration on his chin was stitched up.
A CT scan of his head brought a relieving finding: “Thank God everything was OK. He doesn’t even have a concussion. If he hadn’t been wearing a helmet, the accident would certainly have turned out differently,” said Marianne. He also confirmed to the tabloid: “I was extremely lucky. The helmet saved me.”
Michael Hartl continues to struggle with the consequences
However, the matter is not completely over yet. A further examination is scheduled for a later date in the hospital. A specialist will examine his jaw closely. “He also fell hard on his teeth. At the moment he is not allowed to bite, only eat soup and porridge,” the musician and presenter summarizes.
At least Michael Hartl can laugh again, as shown by his wife Marianne. He can be seen with plasters on his nose and chin and, according to the caption, together with his doctor Dr. Eike Böhme in a pub.
Michael Hartl can apparently rely on his guardian angel. He also survived a stroke in May 2022 without any lasting damage.
