Fans are eagerly awaiting Anke Engelke and Bastian Pastewka’s first joint series. One thing was revealed at the Munich Film Festival: They put their whole body into it.
Actor Bastian Pastewka injured himself while filming his new series with Anke Engelke. “In the sixth episode you see me tripping over a drum kit and in real life that ended in bloodshed,” said the 52-year-old at the premiere of the series “Perfekt Missed” at the Munich Film Festival. He fell on a sofa with a piece of metal sticking out of it and injured his stomach. Overall, however, it was a minor injury.
Pastewka was in front of the camera for the series, which will be available on the streaming service Prime Video from August 15, together with his colleague and long-time good friend Engelke (58). The idea came about during the Corona period during the first lockdown, Engelke said after the premiere. “We sat down together in this stupid time” and thought about joint plans. It could have been another project, she said; a book, for example. But it became a series.
Engelke and Pastewka play the singles Maria and Ralf from Marburg, who could be a good couple – but keep missing each other. She has a bookshop in the small town, he has a sports shop and they even have mutual acquaintances, but they just don’t meet. She had never been to Marburg before, said Engelke. The decision was made because of the “picturesque background”. In addition, in Marburg – unlike in cities like Cologne or Berlin – people are happy to film, even if it blocks roads. Part of the series was filmed in Cologne, however.
For many comedy fans in Germany, Engelke and Pastewka are among the best in their field. They say they have known each other for 27 years. And during this time they have often been seen together: for example in the legendary “Wochenshow” sketches, in shows as the characters Wolfgang and Anneliese or as laughter seducers in the Prime Video format “LOL: Last One Laughing” – and this summer also in their first own series.
