Cult band on tour: Pearl Jam cancels Berlin concerts due to illness

After the London cancellation, there is now disappointment for Berlin fans: Pearl Jam have canceled their two gigs at Berlin’s Waldbühne at short notice. Without an alternative date.

The grunge band Pearl Jam has canceled its two concerts at the Waldbühne in Berlin. “We regret to inform you that the Pearl Jam concerts on Tuesday, July 2nd and Wednesday, July 3rd in Berlin have been canceled,” the musicians from Seattle announced on their website and on the X platform on Sunday (local time). A rescheduled date is not planned, and fans who have already purchased tickets will be refunded.

The reason for the cancellation was health problems in the band: “Despite all efforts, the band has not yet fully recovered,” they said in their statement. The rockers did not provide any further details.

According to media reports, frontman Eddie Vedder was struggling with vocal problems at their last performance in Manchester last Tuesday. A few days later, their performance in London was cancelled due to “illness in the band”.

Pearl Jam is currently touring Europe, the United States and Australia to promote their latest album “Dark Matter”. The two Berlin concerts would have been the only German shows on their world tour. According to the band’s website, the next performances are planned for July 6 and 8 in Barcelona.
