The discarded ideas for Deadpool 3
When Deadpool was first given the green light to join the Marvel Universe, multiple ideas came up. Reynolds told the publication that one idea was “a Rashomon story that had these three different points of view.”
Another idea for the third installment of the Deadpool film series was a standalone road trip comedy.
“It was literally a $5- or $6-million film with no special effects,” he said. “It was just a road trip with dialogue between Dopinder and I, and some of the things we picked up and saw along the way. It wasn’t meant to be an event film. If we’re on our way to point C, the film was meant to get us to point B. That was the weirdest one. I liked it. I thought it was pretty funny.”
Those ideas were eventually scrapped and Deadpool’s collaboration with Wolverine Hugh Jackman was the story audiences will see when Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters on July 25.
