Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39) continues to fear for the life of her husband Heinz Hoenig (72). The seriously ill actor is waiting in a hospital for a life-saving operation. Now his wife has recalled a defining moment for the couple and is fighting back: “Six years ago today we kissed for the first time,” she wrote. “Six weeks later we were engaged and have been going through life together ever since.”

Concern for Heinz Hoenig

Heinz Hoenig was admitted to hospital in a life-threatening condition at the beginning of May. In addition to a bacterial infection, a hole in his esophagus was found, which had to be repaired in an initial operation. A vital operation on the aorta, where the bacterial infection had spread and damaged a stent that had been inserted years ago, is still pending. Since the actor does not have health insurance, donations are being asked to finance the treatment.
