Like Tom and Bill Kaulitz: Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger believe that young people today do not work enough.

In the latest episode of their show, Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger talked about the work-life balance of young people. In their opinion, work ethic has dropped significantly in recent years. “We naturally want the next generation to enjoy life and we want everyone to be happy. But we are naturally concerned that certain things that were a given for us are no longer valid,” said Gottschalk.

Nowadays, people place value on unnecessary things in their working lives. For him and Krüger, for example, there was never such a thing as work-life balance. “It was never a question for me – I was never ill in my life when I appeared on the radio or on television. I often said something with a sniffly nose,” emphasised the former “Wetten, dass..?” presenter. His job is fulfilling, even with a high workload, but young people today have “a somewhat vague idea of what to expect”.

Thomas Gottschalk: Criticism of the Kaulitz twins

Mike Krüger cited Bill and Tom Kaulitz as examples of the lack of enthusiasm for work. The twins from Tokio Hotel have just released their documentary “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”, in which they give an insight into their private lives. For the comedian, the musicians complain too much. “They complain and are completely worn out because they have been on tour for five months and come home completely exhausted,” he criticised.

Something like that would be out of the question for him – who himself has “280 days of travel” in a year. “We didn’t think at all about how much we travel or how much we are on the road. We did 120 concerts in a row, then we had two days off and then we did another 80 concerts,” Krüger clarified.

The Kaulitz twins, on the other hand, had played “certainly not one every day, but one every week, that would be a lot” in the five months. “I don’t want to comment any further on the documentary, because then we’ll have another shitstorm,” he concluded.
