The cult series ran on TV every week for around 35 years. Now you can see all the characters again on stream.

Series marathon with Mutter Beimer & Co.: Fans of “Lindenstraße” can now relive all the highs and lows of the former ARD cult series. All 1758 episodes are now available to stream on ARD Plus, as the WDR media group announced. If you were to watch all the episodes in one go around the clock, that would be the equivalent of about 37 days – a nice activity for the summer holidays, especially when the weather is bad….

“Lindenstraße”, which is considered the first German soap opera, ran every Sunday for almost 35 years until 2020. In addition to the everyday life of a neighborhood, it repeatedly addressed current topics, such as drug addiction, right-wing extremism or refugees. The series also provoked several scandals – such as the first gay kiss on German television. The streaming service is therefore also “a kind of archive of recent German history”, it was said.

ARD Plus had successively released a season of the series every week, so that all episodes are now finally available digitally. “Lindenstraße” is “not only an important chapter in television history, but also a cultural phenomenon with a huge fan base,” said Michael Loeb, Managing Director of ARD Plus GmbH.
