Here comes Super Daddy: Jude Law seems to have finally found happiness with his wife and their children.
Wonderfully idyllic pictures from New York: Hollywood star Jude Law has found family happiness at the age of 51. With his two youngest children, born in 2020 and 2023, he strolls unpretentiously through New York’s Soho district and radiates one thing: This is the life I always wanted. And the impression is solidified: the ex-womanizer has completed his transformation into a model dad.
Wife Phillipa Coan gives him stability
His three-year-old daughter on his right hand, the buggy with his 1-year-old child in his left. Jude Law has no eyes for paparazzi or even other women. His entire focus is on his two children and what he wants to give them: the love of a father. Jude Law understood years ago what his life should really be about: consistency. Wife Phillipa Coan (38), whom he has been married to since 2019, gives him this long-missed stability. Coan not only works as a psychologist, she has apparently also done a lot for Jude’s change of heart. Their first daughter was born in 2020, followed by their second child in 2023. The couple deliberately keeps the names of their children out of the public eye. There are only a few photos on the superstar’s Instagram profile that show him or her with one.
Children and failing relationships as a pattern
Let’s think back: In 1999, as “Dickie” Greenleaf in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” or five years later as heartthrob “Alfie”, Jude Law gave free rein to his passion for beautiful women. Back then, he not only won the title of “Sexiest Man Alive”, he left the impression that he was simply playing himself in the film. In those years, Law was at the peak of his career. He was the coveted poster boy who could supposedly have anyone he wanted. In 2003, his marriage to his first wife Sadie Frost (59) fell apart when he met and fell in love with colleague Sienna Miller (42) on the set of “Alfie”. It wasn’t just his three children with Frost, Rafferty (27), Iris (23) and Rudy (21), who suffered.
He also drew Miller into his then destructive love life when he began an affair with his children’s nanny in 2005. The already engaged couple split spectacularly, got back together from 2009 to 2011 before Miller finally called it quits. It’s hard to believe: In all the confusion of that time, Law played the single, hypersensitive father who is too shy for a new relationship in the 2006 Christmas hit “Love Needs No Holidays”. His private life was completely different: in 2009, his affair with US model Samantha Burke (39) resulted in his daughter Sophia (14). But the relationship didn’t last any longer than his relationship with singer Catherine Harding (33), with whom he has a nine-year-old daughter Ada.
Arrived as a family man
So why should Jude Law have changed? Law seems to have matured emotionally. The London native is more protective of his family life today than he used to be. The patchwork family lives in seclusion in south London. He is more careful with details than he was with his older children – hence the unknown identities of his two youngest. The only exception: In September 2020, he burst out with joy. He spontaneously and exuberantly noted that he had become a father again. Law seems more relaxed today when he talks about his new family with Phillipa Coan and their two children. Back in 2020, he raved about his patchwork life in : “I’m lucky to be with someone who I have more fun with than ever before in my life. We have an incredibly stable and healthy, wonderful family life. That applies to my children, who are young adults … and then there are the younger children, who are just so much joy and so much fun.” It seems as if Jude Law has finally arrived as a family man.
