Schulze, the Bavarian Green Party’s top politician, is expecting her second child in September. After the birth, she wants to take a two-month break from everyday political life.
Around eight weeks after the birth of her child, the Bavarian Green Party parliamentary group leader Katharina Schulze wants to get back into politics. She is “not the type” for parental leave. “That’s why – as long as everything is healthy and good with the baby – I will slowly get back into it after maternity leave after the birth and then take the baby with me,” said the 39-year-old in Munich. That “also worked well” with her first child. Schulze is expected to give birth to her second child at the beginning of September. She will be represented during this time by parliamentary group vice-chair Johannes Becher (36). Schulze has been married to Baden-Württemberg Finance Minister and party colleague Danyal Bayaz (40) since July 2022. The couple already have a son together.
