Prince Albert attended the tennis tournament in Wimbledon on Monday. He was accompanied by a family member.
Princess Kate’s (42) visit to Wimbledon is still eagerly awaited. Last Monday (July 8), however, the Wimbledon audience did not have to miss out on royal splendor. Albert II of Monaco (66) took his seat in the Royal Box. The prince came accompanied by a family member.
Close connection to the royal family
Melanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy (39) sat next to Albert in the stands. She is the daughter of Baroness Elisabeth-Anne de Massy (1947-2020), a cousin of Prince Albert and niece of Albert’s father Rainier III (1923-2005). The Baroness was a close confidante in the Monegasque royal family. She was one of the four younger bridesmaids at the wedding of her uncle Rainier III to Grace Kelly (1929-1982) and godmother to Princess Stéphanie of Monaco (59). Melanie-Antoinette Costello de Massy, who already appeared with Albert at Wimbledon in 2023, also maintains a close relationship with the family. She regularly accompanies Albert to events and is said to be an important support for his wife Princess Charlène (46).
Other Wimbledon guests on Monday were actor Mark Rylance (64), singer Cliff Richard (83) and Princess Michael of Kent (79).
