Driver has previously spoken about how she felt she was treated unfairly as a woman in Hollywood in the 1990s. Now she is happy about “invigorating and amazing” developments.
For Hollywood actress Minnie Driver, the film business has developed positively for women over the past few decades. “We’re allowed to be over 40 now,” the US magazine “People” quoted the 54-year-old, who was born in London, as saying at an event in Los Angeles.
Her roles are more interesting. “You notice that there is so much more variety now in what is required of an actress, which is invigorating and amazing,” said the “Good Will Hunting” actress.
Actresses less reduced to sexuality
Driver says actresses are less reduced to their sexuality these days. “People are waking up and realizing that women only really get going once they’ve run the gauntlet of being seen only sexually.”
She recently saw a film that she had always wanted to be in “and I’m so glad I’m not in that damn film.” Driver had previously spoken about how she felt she was treated unfairly as a woman in Hollywood in the 90s.
