Hard times for the popular “Shopping Queen” star Guido Maria Kretschmer. The designer has lost another one of his dogs.
Guido Maria Kretschmer (59) and his husband Frank Mutters (69) are mourning the loss of their beloved dog Alaiyha. “…when you died in our arms last night, our world stood still for a moment,” the “Shopping Queen” star wrote alongside a photo of the now deceased four-legged friend.
Heavy blows of fate for Guido Maria Kretschmer
At the same time, however, the designer also remembers the many beautiful moments with the deceased dog. “How we loved you and how lucky we were to have had you with us for so long,” the 59-year-old continues. He now feels “gratitude.” According to the post, the dog Alaiyha lived from December 2010 until yesterday, July 10, and was thus 13 years, six months and a few days old.
The fashion designer had to cope with some painful blows of fate last year. In August 2023, his father Erich died at the age of 87. His mother Marianne followed in December at the age of 84. “When my mother died, everything was gone […]. I was more lost than ever before in my entire life,” said Kretschmer.
Family growth in painful times
In April of this year, the family lost their dog Idaya, who was only four years old. “It breaks our hearts and we are still stunned by this unexpected and tragic loss…”, . The year before, they had already mourned the loss of their dog Aimée.
But there was also a new addition to the family. In May 2024, the designer was delighted to welcome “the beautiful Mila,” a dog who had been “rescued from a killing station in Andalusia.” Ivy, apparently the sister of the deceased Idaya, was “very happy about her new playmate after mourning her sister.”
