Michael Douglas: Concerns about Joe Biden’s condition ahead of US election

Like George Clooney: Michael Douglas is also “concerned” about whether Joe Biden can become US President again.

Michael Douglas (79) is also “concerned” about the condition of US President Joe Biden (81). After Hollywood star George Clooney (63) clearly called on the president to step down before the election in the fall, Douglas also took a stand on the talk show “The View”.

In a TV interview on the US channel ABC, the presenters around Whoopi Goldberg (68) asked Michael Douglas about George Clooney’s intervention. The “Wall Street” star did not want to take as clear a position as his colleague. However, he described Clooney’s statement as a “justified argument”. He himself was “very, very concerned” about the situation.

In his guest article, Clooney had warned of Biden’s advanced age and the associated lack of mental fitness. “With this president, we will not win in November,” was Clooney’s conclusion.

Michael Douglas sees “a lot of talent” in the Democratic Party

Douglas described the question of whether Joe Biden should be replaced by another candidate as “difficult”. The Oscar winner sees “a lot of strong minds… a lot of talent” on the Democrats’ “broad bench”. This view is not exactly widespread among the public. Many observers believe that the Democrats are relying on Joe Biden as their candidate because of a lack of alternatives, among other things.

Like Clooney in his article, Michael Douglas also wonders whether Joe Biden would last another four years in office due to his advanced age. “I’m not necessarily worried today or tomorrow, but in a year I’m worried. I’m worried,” he said.
