US rapper Wiz Khalifa played in Romania at the weekend. He is said to have lit a joint on stage and was arrested for doing so.
US rapper Wiz Khalifa says he was temporarily arrested after a concert in Romania – apparently because he smoked a joint on stage. “They were very respectful and let me go. I will be back soon. But next time without a big joint,” the 36-year-old wrote in a post on X. “Last night’s show was fantastic. I didn’t mean to be disrespectful to the country of Romania,” Khalifa continued. The rapper reportedly performed at a festival on Saturday.
Several media outlets also reported that the musician had been temporarily arrested. Videos circulated on social media showing Khalifa smoking on stage and being led away.
The country’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism announced that a US citizen was being investigated for illegal possession of high-risk drugs. It was proven that the accused possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis during a concert at a music festival in the resort of Costinești and consumed another amount of cannabis in the form of a hand-rolled cigarette on stage.
